ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Welcome from the principal

IES Solna community,

As the Principal at Internationella Engelska Skolan in Solna I am both proud and excited to be leading our school as we navigate through our founding months and years together. Having opened our new school in August 2021, our highly skilled, dedicated and engaged staff are working strongly together to fully embrace the IES ethos. Our aim is to establish and nurture a safe and calm environment where high quality, bilingual teaching and learning can flourish. Our aim is to ensure that those families who choose to send their children to IES Solna have a quality experience learning and have access to the best possible bilingual education that is available.

To enhance the holistic school experience, our students are able to take part in school clubs, attend additional study support, and enjoy activities as part of our house system. Our school campus offers excellent facilities with a large library and fully equipped craft, sports facilities, classrooms, junior club area and a large, colorful dining hall. We also strongly collaborate with parents and guardians and have established a supporting and proactive Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

I would like to share a warm welcome to you all as part of our IES Solna community.

Suzanne Gavin
Principal, IES Solna

Find the answer to your question

Apply in just three steps:

  1. Click Join the Queue.
  2. Choose the school you want to apply for (Every school has its own queue. You can place your child in the queue from 1 February the year after they were born).
  3. Fill in the form including your details and those of your child so that we can stay in touch and let you know if a place becomes available.
Most of our schools begin their intake for the following academic year in the autumn term. The length of the process depends on how quickly we hear back from families who are offered places.
Write to the school in question and let them know your queue ID number or personnummer and the information that you would like to change. You can find contact details for our schools here.
There are no fees to attend IES schools. Our schools are funded in the same way as those run by the municipality, through the Swedish tax system and the school voucher (skolpeng).
