ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Welcome from the principal

Internationella Engelska Skolan stands for some tried and tested values. I stand firmly behind those values. We strive to achieve a calm learning environment where teachers can teach and students learn. We achieve this by establishing structure and order but also by promoting positive staff to student and student to student relationships. I believe “discipline” is a good word. This doesn’t just mean students lining up quietly before
lessons, it means promoting something in young people that has perhaps gone out of fashion - “self-discipline”. I want our students to understand that success and happiness in life don’t come quickly from downloading apps or watching video clips on social media - no. Success and happiness in life are achieved from doing lots and lots of small things, by practicing over and over again, by being prepared and following routines, and most importantly, never giving up when things get hard - Yes!

We believe in having high academic expectations of our students. This means you can guarantee that we believe all children, no matter what their background, can exceed their potential. With structured and engaging lessons, regular homework, support and challenge, students will gain knowledge and knowledge is everything! It brings growth, freedom, independence, confidence and influence. I have high aspirations for our children but getting there doesn’t come quickly and is not always an easy ride. This is where we need your support. I am a parent, I
know it is not always easy. Together though, with a united set of values, we can help give our children a bright and successful future!

Contact me directly if my words ring true for you - I am looking to develop the PTA (Parent group across both school buildings) to help us drive this school forwards for the betterment of our children.

We have high expectations, but rest assured, we will see your child and we will praise them. We will support and care for them. They are our shared treasure, our greatest investment in life.

I wish you and our children the very best of success this term and I look forward to getting to know you, working with you and celebrating with you!

Warmest Regards,

Mr. Brunker
Principal

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Find the answer to your question

Apply in just three steps:

  1. Click Join the Queue.
  2. Choose the school you want to apply for (Every school has its own queue. You can place your child in the queue from 1 February the year after they were born).
  3. Fill in the form including your details and those of your child so that we can stay in touch and let you know if a place becomes available.
Most of our schools begin their intake for the following academic year in the autumn term. The length of the process depends on how quickly we hear back from families who are offered places.
Write to the school in question and let them know your queue ID number or personnummer and the information that you would like to change. You can find contact details for our schools here.
There are no fees to attend IES schools. Our schools are funded in the same way as those run by the municipality, through the Swedish tax system and the school voucher (skolpeng).
