The school will be in Vårby Udde where Huddinge Municipality is now planning a new residential area with approximately 2,000 homes, together with schools, preschools, nursing homes, shops and parks. It will be a compulsory school with two parallel classes for grades F-9 and will teach approximately 600 students when fully developed. If all the necessary permits are in place, the queue for IES Vårby will open on 1 February 2022.

Anna Sörelius Nordenborg, CEO of Internationella Engelska Skolan, said: "Huddinge is one of the fastest growing municipalities in the country and needs more school places in the coming years. We already have two schools in the municipality and are proud to be able to contribute another high-quality school. We look forward to welcoming all students, regardless of background, to newly-renovated and attractive premises where we will motivate them to do their best in a safe and calm school environment."

The contract depends on a building permit and permission from the Swedish Schools Inspectorate (Skolinspektionen).
